LDO Galileo 2 Extruder Kit
NEW: LDO Galileo 2 Extruder Kit now with POM injection moulded housing
After one year development/extreme testing with a large number of beta tests with the VoronDesign team,
LDO finally released the successor of the successful Galileo extruder kit, the Galileo 2 Extruder Kit, also named G2.
- All G2 kits are based around a custom-designed 9:1 MJF and Aluminium planetary gearbox.
It comes with a custom 9T stepper that features 20% higher surface area than the existing 10T
designs (5mm tall spur gear vs 4mm tall spur gear). This leads to increased wear protection and better
power transfer from the stepper to the gearbox. The gearbox also follows the rules of
planetary gearboxes, where the sun (spur) gear needs to be divisible by the number of
planets for proper meshing and loading of the planets (3 planets, 9T spur). - G2 Extruder (G2E) is designed as a drop-in replacement for the Clockwork 2 (CW2) extruder for Voron
printers utilizing the Stealthburner toolhead. G2E features a custom large drive gear (16mm
diameter) mated to an idler bearing to help prevent extruder artefacts due to gear meshing,
and because it features a planetary gearbox, there are no issue with gear-meshing noise as
found on CW2. G2E is also fully compatible with all current Stealthburner toolhead boards available.
The kit includes all parts needed except the 3D printed parts (STLs can be found together with more info on GIT).

Excellent kit. Comes with all the parts required for either “normal” or “standalone” versions. Added it to my V0 as part of a dragon burner upgrade and am very impressed with the print quality.

I’ve put one onto my 2.4 as a Stealth burner. I found CW2 filament latch kept wearing and unclicking in printing, this has a more normal constant strain sprint. My printing constancy has improved massively from moving to this. Planning on using it as standalone on a Dragon Burner now.
The only thing the kit doesn’t come with is the lube required for the gears.

I first built this as a G2SA and eventually switched back to Stealthburner and installed it as it was intended (G2E) and in both configurations it worked perfectly and the kit was top quality.
